- Cleansing
from all sin
1John 1:7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light,
we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his
Son, purifies us from all sin.
- Crucified
with Christ
Romans 6:6 For we know that our old self was crucified
with him so that the body of sin might be done away with, that
we should no longer be slaves to sin-
Galatians 2:20 I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer
live, but Christ lives in me. The life I live in the body, I live
by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for
me.
Romans 6:11 In the same way, count yourselves dead to sin but
alive to God in Christ Jesus.
- Baptized
with the Holy Spirit
MT 3:11 "I baptize you with water for repentance.
But after me will come one who is more powerful than I, whose
sandals I am not fit to carry. He will baptize you with the Holy
Spirit and with fire.
Acts 1:5 For John baptized with water, but in a few days you will
be baptized with the Holy Spirit."
Acts 11:16 Then I remembered what the Lord had said: `John baptized
with water, but you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit.' 17
So if God gave them the same gift as he gave us, who believed
in the Lord Jesus Christ, who was I to think that I could oppose
God?"

- Filled
with the Holy Spirit
Acts 2:4 All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit
and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit enabled them.
Acts 4:31 After they prayed, the place where they were meeting
was shaken. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and
spoke the word of God boldly.
Acts 13;52 And the disciples were filled with joy and with the
Holy Spirit.
Eph 5:18 Do not get drunk on wine, which leads to debauchery.
Instead, be filled with the Spirit.
Acts 6:3 Brothers, choose seven men from among you who are known
to be full of the Spirit and wisdom. We will turn this responsibility
over to them 4 and will give our attention to prayer and the ministry
of the word." This proposal pleased the whole group. They
chose Stephen, a man full of faith and of the Holy Spirit; also
Philip, Procorus, Nicanor, Timon, Parmenas, and Nicolas from Antioch,
a convert to Judaism. 6 They presented these men to the apostles,
who prayed and laid their hands on them. So the word of God spread.
The number of disciples in Jerusalem increased rapidly, and a
large number of priests became obedient to the faith. Now Stephen,
a man full of God's grace and power, did great wonders and miraculous
signs among the people.
Acts 7:55 But Stephen, full of the Holy Spirit, looked up to heaven
and saw the glory of God, and Jesus standing at the right hand
of God. 56 "Look," he said, "I see heaven open
and the Son of Man standing at the right hand of God."

Acts 11:22 News of this reached the ears of the church at Jerusalem,
and they sent Barnabas to Antioch. 23 When he arrived and saw
the evidence of the grace of God, he was glad and encouraged them
all to remain true to the Lord with all their hearts. 24 He was
a good man, full of the Holy Spirit and faith, and a great number
of people were brought to the Lord.
- The
fullness of God
Ephesians 3:16 I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen
you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, 17 so that
Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that
you, being rooted and established in love, 18 may have power,
together with all the saints, to grasp how wide and long and high
and deep is the love of Christ, 19 and to know this love that
surpasses knowledge--that you may be filled to the measure of
all the fullness of God.
Ephesians 4:13 until we all reach unity in the faith and in the
knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the
whole measure of the fullness of Christ.

- Holiness
Romans 6:19 I put this in human terms because you are weak in
your natural selves. Just as you used to offer the parts of your
body in slavery to impurity and to ever-increasing wickedness,
so now offer them in slavery to righteousness leading to holiness.
20 When you were slaves to sin, you were free from the control
of righteousness. 21 What benefit did you reap at that time from
the things you are now ashamed of? Those things result in death!
22 But now that you have been set free from sin and have become
slaves to God, the benefit you reap leads to holiness, and the
result is eternal life.
2Corinthians 7:1 Since we have these promises, dear friends, let
us purify ourselves from everything that contaminates body and
spirit, perfecting holiness out of reverence for God.
Ephesians 4:22 You were taught, with regard to your former way
of life, to put off your old self, which is being corrupted by
its deceitful desires; 23 to be made new in the attitude of your
minds; 24 and to put on the new self, created to be like God in
true righteousness and holiness.
1 Thessalonians 3:13 May he strengthen your hearts so that you
will be blameless and holy in the presence of our God and Father
when our Lord Jesus comes with all his holy ones.

1 Thessalonians 4:7 For God did not call us to be impure, but
to live a holy life. 8 Therefore, he who rejects this instruction
does not reject man but God, who gives you his Holy Spirit.
Hebrews 12:14 Make every effort to live in peace with all men
and to be holy; without holiness no one will see the Lord. 15
See to it that no one misses the grace of God and that no bitter
root grows up to cause trouble and defile many. 16 See that no
one is sexually immoral, or is godless like Esau, who for a single
meal sold his inheritance rights as the oldest son.
Romans 12:1 Therefore, I urge you, brothers, in view of God's
mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing
to God--this is your spiritual act of worship. 2 Do not conform
any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by
the renewing of your mind.
Ephesians 1:4 For he chose us in him before the creation of the
world to be holy and blameless in his sight.
Ephesians 5:25 Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved
the church and gave himself up for her 26 to make her holy, cleansing
her by the washing with water through the word, 27 and to present
her to himself as a radiant church, without stain or wrinkle or
any other blemish, but holy and blameless.
Colossians 1:21 Once you were alienated from God and were enemies
in your minds because of your evil behavior. 22 But now he has
reconciled you by Christ's physical body through death to present
you holy in his sight, without blemish and free from accusation--
23 if you continue in your faith, established and firm, not moved
from the hope held out in the gospel. This is the gospel that
you heard and that has been proclaimed to every creature under
heaven, and of which I, Paul, have become a servant.

Colossians 3:12 Therefore, as God's chosen people, holy and dearly

who called you is holy, so be holy in all you do; 16 for it is
written: "Be holy, because I am holy."
1Peter 2:4 As you come to him, the living Stone--rejected by men
but chosen by God and precious to him-- 5 you also, like living
stones, are being built into a spiritual house to be a holy priesthood,
offering spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus
Christ.
2Peter 3:11 Since everything will be destroyed in this way, what
kind of people ought you to be? You ought to live holy and godly
lives 12 as you look forward to the day of God and speed its coming.
That day will bring about the destruction of the heavens by fire,
and the elements will melt in the heat. 13 But in keeping with
his promise we are looking forward to a new heaven and a new earth,
the home of righteousness.

- Sanctification/
Entire Sanctification
1Thessalonians 5:23 May God himself, the God of peace,
sanctify you through and through. May your whole spirit, soul
and body be kept blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.
24 The one who calls you is faithful and he will do it.
John 17:15 My prayer is not that you take them out of the world
but that you protect them from the evil one. 16 They are not of
the world, even as I am not of it. 17 Sanctify them by the truth;
your word is truth. 18 As you sent me into the world, I have sent
them into the world. 19 For them I sanctify myself, that they
too may be truly sanctified.
Acts 20:32 "Now I commit you to God and to the word of his
grace, which can build you up and give you an inheritance among
all those who are sanctified. 33 I have not coveted anyone's silver
or gold or clothing. 34 You yourselves know that these hands of
mine have supplied my own needs and the needs of my companions.
35 In everything I did, I showed you that by this kind of hard
work we must help the weak, remembering the words the Lord Jesus
himself said: `It is more blessed to give than to receive.' "
Acts 26:16 `Now get up and stand on your feet. I have appeared
to you to appoint you as a servant and as a witness of what you
have seen of me and what I will show you. 17 I will rescue you
from your own people and from the Gentiles. I am sending you to
them 18 to open their eyes and turn them from darkness to light,
and from the power of Satan to God, so that they may receive forgiveness
of sins and a place among those who are sanctified by faith in
me.'

1 Corinthians 1:30 It is because of him that you are in Christ
Jesus, who has become for us wisdom from God--that is, our righteousness,
holiness and redemption. 31 Therefore, as it is written: "Let
him who boasts boast in the Lord."
1Thessalonians 4:3 It is God's will that you should be sanctified:
that you should avoid sexual immorality; 4 that each of you should
learn to control his own body in a way that is holy and honorable,
5 not in passionate lust like the heathen, who do not know God;
6 and that in this matter no one should wrong his brother or take
advantage of him.
2Timothy 2:20 In a large house there are articles not only of
gold and silver, but also of wood and clay; some are for noble
purposes and some for ignoble. 21 If a man cleanses himself from
the latter, he will be an instrument for noble purposes, made
holy, useful to the Master and prepared to do any good work.
Hebrews 2:10 In bringing many sons to glory, it was fitting that
God, for whom and through whom everything exists, should make
the author of their salvation perfect through suffering. 11 Both
the one who makes men holy and those who are made holy are of
the same family. So Jesus is not ashamed to call them brothers.
12 He says,"I will declare your name to my brothers;
in the presence of the congregation I will sing your praises."
Hebrews 10:8 First he said, "Sacrifices and offerings, burnt
offerings and sin offerings you did not desire, nor were you pleased
with them" (although the law required them to be made). 9
Then he said, "Here I am, I have come to do your will."
He sets aside the first to establish the second. 10 And by that
will, we have been made holy through the sacrifice of the body
of Jesus Christ once for all.

which can never take away sins. 12 But when this priest had offered
for all time one sacrifice for sins, he sat down at the right

forever those who are being made holy.
1Peter 1:1 Peter, an apostle of Jesus Christ, to God's elect,
strangers in the world, scattered throughout Pontus, Galatia,
Cappadocia, Asia and Bithynia, 2 who have been chosen according
to the foreknowledge of God the Father, through the sanctifying
work of the Spirit, for obedience to Jesus Christ and sprinkling
by his blood: Grace and peace be yours in abundance.

- Purified/
Pure heart
PS 51:2 Wash away all my iniquity
and cleanse me from my sin.
PS 51:7 Cleanse me with hyssop, and I will be clean;
wash me, and I will be whiter than snow.
PS 51:10 Create in me a pure heart, O God,
and renew a steadfast spirit within me.
Ezekiel 23 I will show the holiness of my great name, which has
been profaned among the nations, the name you have profaned among
them. Then the nations will know that I am the LORD, declares
the Sovereign LORD, when I show myself holy through you before
their eyes. 24 " `For I will take you out of the nations;
I will gather you from all the countries and bring you back into
your own land. 25 I will sprinkle clean water on you, and you
will be clean; I will cleanse you from all your impurities and
from all your idols. 26 I will give you a new heart and put a
new spirit in you; I will remove from you your heart of stone
and give you a heart of flesh. 27 And I will put my Spirit in
you and move you to follow my decrees and be careful to keep my
laws.
Acts 15:8 God, who knows the heart, showed that he accepted them
by giving the Holy Spirit to them, just as he did to us. 9 He
made no distinction between us and them, for he purified their
hearts by faith.
Titus 2:11 For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared
to all men. 12 It teaches us to say "No" to ungodliness
and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright and
godly lives in this present age, 13 while we wait for the blessed
hope--the glorious appearing of our great God and Savior, Jesus
Christ, 14 who gave himself for us to redeem us from all wickedness
and to purify for himself a people that are his very own, eager
to do what is good.

are! The reason the world does not know us is that it did not
know him. 2 Dear friends, now we are children of God, and what
we will be has not yet been made known. But we know that when
he appears, we shall be like him, for we shall see him as he is.
3 Everyone who has this hope in him purifies himself, just as
he is pure.

and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous.
46 If you love those who love you, what reward will you get? Are
not even the tax collectors doing that? 47 And if you greet only
your brothers, what are you doing more than others? Do not even
pagans do that? 48 Be perfect, therefore, as your heavenly Father
is perfect.
2 Corinthians 13:9 We are glad whenever we are weak but you are
strong; and our prayer is for your perfection. 10 This is why
I write these things when I am absent, that when I come I may
not have to be harsh in my use of authority--the authority the
Lord gave me for building you up, not for tearing you down. 11
Finally, brothers, good-by. Aim for perfection, listen to my appeal,
be of one mind, live in peace. And the God of love and peace will
be with you.

and to the sprinkled blood that speaks a better word than the
blood of Abel.
1John 2:3 We know that we have come to know him if we obey his
commands. 4 The man who says, "I know him," but does
not do what he commands is a liar, and the truth is not in him.
5 But if anyone obeys his word, God's love is truly made complete
in him. This is how we know we are in him: 6 Whoever claims to
live in him must walk as Jesus did.
1 John 4:11 Dear friends, since God so loved us, we also ought
to love one another. 12 No one has ever seen God; but if we love
one another, God lives in us and his love is made complete in
us.
1 John 4:16 God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and
God in him. 17 In this way, love is made complete among us so
that we will have confidence on the day of judgment, because in
this world we are like him. 18 There is no fear in love. But perfect
love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment.
The one who fears is not made perfect in love.
