When Evening Comes There Will Be Light
by Bishop Emeritus Paul N. Ellis
Self-Published by John Ellis
Reviewed by Bishop Emeritus Don N. Bastian

I've just finished reading When Evening Comes There Will Be Light, Bishop Paul N. Ellis' memoirs put into book form for the benefit of his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Here are the memories and reflections of a man now in his ninetieth year. They review his early call to the ministry, his deep love for Deloris, and then for Naomi, his special joy in his three sons, his globe girdling travels in service of the Free Methodist Church.

The memories are laced with insights, comments and asides. I have laughed out loud, brushed back tears, and rejoiced with a soldier of Christ who has fought a good fight and has come through it joyful in age. I know I was moved by this little testimonial because I have such respect for the life of this man, my true friend. The information is too valuable and helpful to be limited to the reading of his immediate family.
The book is self-published by Bishop Ellis's son, John, and can be ordered by calling 317-925-2682, or contacting Johnpellis@worldnet.att.net.
