The Gospel
Spreads in Africa
by Dr. Henry Church, Africa Area Director

Jean-Paul
and Thomas |
Pastor Ndickoboussiengui Jean-Paul (just call him Jean-Paul) is from
Cameroon. He was working in a church under the leadership of a Free Methodist
ordained pastor, Sone Charles. At that time, we did not have Free Methodist
work in Cameroon. Sone and young Jean-Paul felt a burden for the people
of Gabon, a nearby French-speaking country in Africa. Without any means
of support, 21-year-old Jean-Paul, who is soon to be married, left his
homeland. He has been in Libreville, the capital, for two years. He has
established one church of nearly 30 people. His goal is to establish churches
in all nine provinces of Gabon, with Libreville as the base. Jean-Paul
is minimally supported by the newly re-established FMC in Cameroon. He
needs our prayers. There is great opportunity in Gabon.

Rev.
and Mrs. Charles Sone |
Pastor Tangu Thomas had been in Malabo, Equatorial Guinea, for six years
before returning to his native Cameroon. He had established a church in
Equatorial Guinea, a Spanish-speaking nation in Africa, with an independent
group called the Christian Missionary Fellowship. When he returned to
Cameroon, he met Pastor Sone Charles and has since become a Free Methodist.
The small congregation made up of Brother Thomas' converts still meets
in Equatorial Guinea under the leadership of a layman, Mr. Santos.
Isn't it interesting how the gospel spreads!
