Let's Unite in Caring for One More Soul

The call was a passionate one as I recently attended a conference labeled "One More Soul." For three days Pastor Ron Williams and I heard heart-directed messages from each of our area bishops and the chairman of our denomination's Board of Administration. There is no sleight of hand or confusing dialogue with this clear message from our leadership. It is a call to intentionally care enough about people to share the plan of salvation with them.

Between January 1 and March 25 of this year, 91 people received Christ or rededicated their lives to Christ in our ministries. I have never seen a time like this, when so many adults have responded to the good news of salvation in so short a period. I believe it is an indication that we live nearer to the end of time — when Jesus will come to receive His church. Spiritual activity is increasing; people need to have a right relationship with Jesus. There is also an attack from Satan that is heating up to unprecedented levels.

I write urging you to take One More Soul seriously. Care enough to share the plan of salvation with your family, friends, work associates and neighbors! Get involved in starting new churches! Support the missionary efforts of our denomination! Care enough to give prayer time, service time and financial support. Get trained and equipped to reach one more soul — and let's do this together!
