It was in late 2002 when we began working together to create
our own unique musical expressions of faith and life. Though
music has always played a big role in both of our lives, the
unique music of Smith and Doornekamp offers us
a new opportunity to express our hearts. What is at the core
of our music? - it is our heart-felt belief that Christ really
lived and walked on this earth, that He died, and rose to
life again - and that He makes healing, wholeness and purpose
available to us, and to all who look for Him. So whether our
music speaks overtly or subtly about faith, it is the underlying
theme of all our music. Our faith has changed the course of
our lives, it shapes our world view, and our hearts
desire is to share it with those around us as well. Our music
speaks honestly of both the good and bad times in life, and
chronicles an honest quest to make sense of a world that leaves
God largely out of the equation.
Smith & Doornekamp are an official ministry of Westport
Free Methodist Church (Westport Ontario, CAN).
