Patti Williams — Bedford, IN

Patti is married to Clayton Williams who is an engineer at Crane Naval Base. They have two children — Mason (5) and Makenzie (4). They think their Mom makes the best hot dogs and macaroni and cheese.

Patti was bom a Free Methodist. She is the 4th generation in the Mikels family to attend the Bedford FMC. She is the church preschool director, with 68 children enrolled. Patti is also a Service Coordinator for First Steps which is an early intervention program for children 0-3 years of age with a developmental delay.

Should you stop by the home of Clayton and Patti Williams during the fall and winter months you will probably find a pot of soup on the stove.

Patti's "White Chili" has become quite famous over the last few months. It all started when she and Clayton had dinner at Tumbleweeds. Clayton ordered white chili and was hooked, so Patti's mission to make the soup began. She tried 3-4 recipes mixing a little of this and less of that till she finally had the perfect soup her husband loved.

Cooking and reading cookbooks are stress relievers for Patti. The "Italian Sausage Stew" is one that Clayton came across. After one batch they decided this was a keeper.

The "Potato Soup" is one passed down by Marg Hill. It is the creamiest yet! Alas, Clayton does not appreciate the taste of potato soup and does not encourage Patti in this area.

If you can remember Rax Restaurants and their "Broccoli Soup" try this recipe and tell me if its not very close to the same.

The vegetable-beef soup is new - it will warm you through and through. This makes a big pot full. You should have enough to freeze for later.

With winter comes colds and flu and what better way to cure what ails you than a bowl full of "Chicken Noodle Vegetable Soup". Much better than the can stuff!
