Erase
I look out and I see Your glorious creations... the wind that
brushes my back, the bee that gathers its pollen, the waters
that reflect Your face for me to see...
A reflection of love, fulfillment, and a plan...
A plan for all of us, to go out and display Your creation
to others...though the ways to do this are unknown to us,
You know how...
You know how to create a beautiful human from a small egg...
You know how the water is going to flow through the rivers
and the oceans... You know how to create a community of people
with one mind and one heart though thought of as individuals...
Blessed? Lucky? Trial and error? It's all You, nothing else...
the hairs on my head, the love I share, the friends I make,
it's all known by You...
You are amazing and awe-inspiring, and though I still doubt...
Your love is in all and yet I still question, Your Son died
and gave His life for me and yet I'm still ashamed to always
praise Your name...
Why, I ask, You did everything You could to get me to Heaven
and I still sin... a curse, an insult, to avoid and to attach,
I did it all, it's so unpleasing to You...
But You forgive me? I almost took my own life, and You stopped
me? The games I play and You play along? I make up my own
rules and You abide? Why do I hurt you? There's no good reason
why...
Be my artist, oh dear God, I give You the canvas, my heart...
erase me, Lord and draw me anew, erase me until only You remain
as the core of my small life... erase me and make me a NEW
creation, forever holy and pleasing in Your eyes...
