The USS Curie Discoveries
Inspirational Science Fiction series by Jo Bower

The pivotal character of the USS Curie Discoveries is Chaplain Craig Lea, a military chaplain and amateur archaeologist. He serves both the military crew and civilian scientists of the ship's community. As a result of his involvement in the digs, the Chaplain begins to study the cultures the Curie is invited to investigate just as Humans have investigated ancient cultures on Earth for centuries.

Does this ancient culture have concepts of an universal Creator? How do they express their beliefs? How does it meet their perceived needs? Do they worship the Universal Creator or are their beliefs cultic? These are the questions Craig begins to address. As he deciphers the symbols of other races, he realizes God remains the same for all beings who believe, although their symbols are specific to their nature. The adventure is in the discovery of the way other beings relate to God.

Ideas behind the series ...

We believe God created the entire universe and all that is in it. Believing that, we must also consider His creation as including all Beings in the Universe. And, because He creates out of love, God will also provide a way to communicate with those Beings, according to their unique natures.

The USS Curie Discoveries are stories of those Beings and how they relate to God, the Universal Creator.

The mission turns dangerous when Chaplain Craig Lea nearly loses his life in a strange storm. Before the scientists can discover the storm's origin, it takes the life of a scientist.
