Education:

B.A. Indiana University, Bloomington, IN. Michelle earned a journalism degree with newspaper and magazine concentration.

Employment:

Michelle worked for The Bedford Times-Mail newspaper in southern Indiana from February 1992 until 1996 where she wrote four or five articles every day. During her time at the newspaper, she also contributed regularly to the Bedford Monthly Magazine. She wrote a monthly column in Hoosier Sportsman during 1994-1996 and was a magazine feature writer for Believer's Voice of Victory 1998-2000 before going full-time freelance in January 2001.

Today, in addition to writing, Michelle shares her knowledge of the publishing world at prestigious writers’ conferences and workshops around the nation. She has spoken at the Pike’s Peak Writers’ Conference, the Glorieta Christian Writers Conference, the Blue Ridge Mountains Christian Writers Conference, the North Texas Christian Writers Conference, the Delaware Christian Writers’ Conference, the Quad Cities Christian Writers’ Conference and the Write-to-Publish Conference to name a few. She also taught an accredited course, “Writing For Children,” at Taylor University Fort Wayne (IN) during the fall of 2006. From speaking about writing in educational settings and writers' conferences to teaching the Word of God in churches, at women's retreats and luncheons—Michelle travels across the United States encouraging others. Over the past year, she has spoken to a 10,000-member church, Living Word Bible Church in Mesa, Arizona, as well as the Fellowship Prayer Breakfast at the Black Historical Cultural Center in Amarillo, Texas, to highlight a few.

Family:

Michelle married her high school sweetheart, Jeff, on August 31, 1991.
They have two daughters: Abby, age 14 and Allyson, age 12. And they have three long-haired miniature dachshunds: Maddie, Miller and Molly.

Michelle has been a fulltime freelance writer for newspapers and magazines since January 2001.

She is the author of 22 published children's books and 11 books for women including her best-selling children’s book, “What Is Easter?” and her very popular woman’s title, “Divine Stories of the Yahweh Sisterhood” (which she co-authored with Gena Maselli). .

Because of her inspirational nature, Michelle has been a featured guest on several TV programs including: “God Answers Prayer” in Santa Fe, NM; “At Home Live” in Fort Worth, TX; and “The Harvest Show” in South Bend, IN, on LeSea Network. She has also made several appearances on the Greenwood, IN, TBN affiliate.
