Hill penned the winning essay in a contest sponsored by the Division of Business Administration and Accounting at Roberts Wesleyan College. The contest was a means of affirming and nurturing Christian students' calling into business.

Intrinsic and extrinsic - believes in his calling to business and wanted to win the scholarship money. Actually, his fiancée, Inga Stoltz, talked him into entering. The Division of Business Administration and Accounting sponsored the contest as a means of affirming and nurturing Christian students' calling into business, just as other students are called into ministry, social work,education, etc.

Jason's father, Nelson Hill (RWC '77), is Pastor of Discipleship and Care at Pearce Memorial Free Methodist Church, North Chili, NY. Jason's mother, Karen (Hartman) Hill (RWC '75), is a nurse leader at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester, NY. His twin siblings, Julie and Matthew, are sophomores at Roberts Wesleyan (in the fall 2001).
