Place of Birth:
Denver, Colorado
Church Affiliation:
Since we move around, we have attended several denominations of churches (and nondenominational churches!). Technically, Hal and I are members of the First Presbyterian Church of Lamar (PC-USA).

When Hal is asked this question, he simply says, "We are reformed, charismatic, evangelicals masquerading as Presbyterians."
Number of Years Writing:
Over ten, with my first publication in late 1991.
List of Other Publications and Year Published:
"Puttin' on the Blinders: How to Keep Our Focus on Christ" Light and Life, Nov/Dec 2002

I now have over 130 publications in about 50 different periodicals and books.

Some of them are:

Periodicals: Focus on the Family magazine, Discipleship Journal, The Colorado Trooper ,(a publication, The Standard (Baptist General Conference),Virtue, Today's Christian Senior ,The Plain Truth, The Lookout, Joyful Woman, Women Alive!, The Salvation Army's War Cry!, On Mission, Christian Motorcyclist's Association's HeartBeat, and, of course, Light and Life

I released my first book, Dear America: A Letter of Comfort and Hope to a Grieving Nation (Ampelos, 2002), in March of 2002. Following the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001, I wanted to connect with grieving people and give them hope. So I wrote about my own experiences with grief and why I believe in God. Then I addressed some questions about God and Islam and why bad things still happen if there is a good God, and I offered a unique, more indepth-than-usual presentation of the gospel. My book is available through my web site: www.DianneEButts.com

My work has also been included in the following books: (All of that is the same, but we could add:) My work will be included in two new books due out in 2003:

For Better or Worse (Christian Publications, 2003), a devotion for married couples compiled by Marlene Bagnull www.writehisanswer.com

The Book Marketing Workbook by Carmen Leal www.writerspeaker.com

I am also producing a new line of helpful pamphlets for writers. The first, titled "Should I Become a Writer? How Can I Decide?" is already available through my web site. The second, "How Do I 'Show, Don't Tell'?" will be released soon.

Education:
I have a high school education and have taken a few college courses including Emergency Medical Technology.
Employment:
I have been a full time writer since 1994.
Family:
My husband, Hal, is a Captain with the Colorado State Patrol. We have been married 21 years last spring. We have no children--just a cat.
When I'm not writing, I like to garden with my cat, P.C., and ride motorcycles with my husband, Hal. Hal and I get as many motorcycle trips in as we can in the summer. Hal rides a Pearl White 2002 Harley Davidson Ultra Classic; I ride a Honda Shadow 1100cc. I've been riding motorcycles since I was seventeen (even BEFORE I met Hal!).
