Miraculous Healings in the U.K.

Hundreds are united in prayer on Tuesdays at Renewal Christian Centre in England.

Wednesdays just aren’t the same anymore.

That’s because every Tuesday — for four years now — Renewal Christian Centre (Solihull, England) gathers for prayer. The direct result: dramatic healings from cancers, skin diseases, spinal and heart conditions and depression — all confirmed by doctors and surgeons.

According to Pastor David Carr, physicians have made comments such as, “I am not a Christian, but my patient who was acutely ill last Friday is [now] whole — is this a divine occurrence?” A doctor who was treating a 14-year-old girl with lung cancer said, “Only twice in my medical career have I seen cancer vanish — I don’t know what has happened.” Carr says that when her mother replied, “She was prayed for last week,” the oncology department posted a notice offering prayer for those who receive challenging news.

Those seeking prayer come forward for anointing with oil and the laying on of hands — first the incurable and the terminal. “Then we pray by sections (seating) or by a particular sickness,” says Carr. Much of the time, all 600-700 attendees pray aloud in unison.

“Many have started coming forward for loved ones,” he adds. “We give them a prayer cloth, anointing it with oil, and praying over it. Many have sent these to people and have seen great release.” Most Tuesdays people are saved spiritually as well.

One Tuesday this summer a Methodist pastor from Ireland brought his cancer-stricken wife who had been given only one year to live. After receiving prayer, the woman lay on the floor at the front of the sanctuary for about 40 minutes. “Later,” says Carr, “her 7-year-old daughter asked, ‘Mommy, what was that large white angel standing over you?’” Returning home the next week, the woman received full scans to recheck her life expectancy. “The two consultants were stunned,” reports Carr. “She was totally free from all cancer. Her healing was declared a miracle.” She then appeared on national news in the U.K., and an estimated 4 million heard her testimony.

“I joined the Free Methodist denomination two years ago,” says Carr, “after being on the executive [board] of a major Pentecostal denomination for 28 years. I believe the Lord called us to join so that we can help in the process of re-opening and re-digging Wesley wells so that the same spirit and passion for the Word of God — and the signs and wonders that follow the preaching of it — can be seen again in our nation.” Carr added that he felt that God had promised him revival if he was obedient. He now believes that the signs and wonders — and the converts he is now seeing — are due to that transaction with God.

In response to many requests, Renewal Centre is scheduling prayer meetings in 12 U.K. cities.
