Kirk Cameron: Equipping Christians for Evangelism

(The following is a continuation of Matt Schnepf's interview with Kirk Cameron, which appears in the May/June 2005 Light & Life magazine.)

A California resident, Kirk Cameron and his wife (and former co-star), Chelsea, stay busy raising their six young children. Although his starring role as Mike Seaver on Growing Pains ended 13 years ago, Cameron has twice reunited with the show's cast to film reunion movies, in 2000 and 2004. He also travels nationally, speaking at churches and community events.

In addition to his work with The Way of the Master, Cameron ministers through Camp Firefly, a unique camping experience he and Chelsea established for seriously ill children and their families. Through this venture, families receive a weeklong, expense-paid mountain retreat. Programming includes activities/special events designed to provide a time of recreation, relaxation and rejuvenation. Through Camp Firefly families connect with others going through similar life experiences.
