| Joseph's Vision inspires a new generation
Pastor Adolfo Solis of Hispanic FMC (Santa Ana, CA) has a vision like Joseph’s — of “seven heads of grain, full and good, growing on a single stalk” (Genesis 41:22). A great supernatural harvest is being gathered, with 1,000 members so far, seven church plants in California and seven missions in Sonora, Mexico. Prayer undergirds this church, with daily prayer meetings for leaders beginning at 4-5 a.m. After the men head for work, the women continue the vigil until about noon. A primary focus is on the development of leaders through a training center where 49 are currently preparing for ministry: 26 are already LMCs (local ministerial candidates), seven are CMCs (conference ministerial candidates). Four seminars are held each year with a focus on planting. Highly practical, the next event is scheduled for March 14-15 in Santa Ana. Registration is underway and will also be available at the door. For further information, call (714) 953-0791. The cost is $30 per person; housing can be arranged. “We are transitioning from a ‘club’ to an ‘army’ church, as in Many among the church’s membership are tithers. Solis attributes this to the supernatural vision and the leadership’s commitment to tithing. With Genesis 41:33-34 in mind, the members tithe 20 percent on unexpected income (money received “supernaturally”). Solis, a 43-year FM pastor who frequently cites scripture when describing his church and its ministries, reads through the Bible twice a year and the Psalms 15 times. He caught the vision for multiplication in 1996 while reading Ezekiel 36:9-11 and 37. |
