The president's own
In December, ABC’s World News Tonight featured a day in the life of George W. Bush. In the evening, in the White House presidential residence, viewers got a glimpse of 26-year-old Staff Sergeant Russell Wilson, gifted pianist and a member of “The President’s Own,” the U.S. Marine Band whose mission (since 1798) is to provide music for the Leader of the Free World. Making disciples of all kids
At Marysville FMC (WA), they’re creatively leading people to Christ and embracing them into a community of growing believers. Among the most impacted are the children and their parents.

Warm fuzzies
A mitten tree sponsored by the youth group Harbor Light Fellowship (Ludington, MI) was hung with so many hats, mittens and scarves during the Christmas season, some of the more than 100 donations had to be piled on the floor! Recipients of the warm fuzzies were women at a local pregnancy center that helps expectant moms in many ways, including providing biblical counseling.

Faith in Action reflects Jesus' love
“I’m so proud of our church family and how much they give themselves to reaching one more for Jesus,” says Pastor Tom Stroup of his congregation at Brockport FMC (NY). “This past year in particular, we’ve really put our faith into action.”

The church bought 44 acres surrounding its current property, raising the required monies in just a year — above and Full Story...

Joseph's vision inspires a new generation
Pastor Adolfo Solis of Hispanic FMC (Santa Ana, CA) has a vision like Joseph’s — of “seven heads of grain, full and good, growing on a single stalk” (Genesis 41:22). A great supernatural harvest is being gathered, with 1,000 members so far, seven church plants in California and seven missions in Sonora, Mexico.

Shining light in Michigan
Last year, Hastings FMC (MI) had a growth spurt: a 10 percent increase in Sunday morning attendance, 12 first-time commitments, six baptisms, 18 new members and nine new families. Pastor Dan Graybill attributes much of the excitement to the church’s relocation in late February to a much more visible site.

Cell "experiment" a huge success
Leadership is the ultimate goal for every member of West Coast Celebration (San Mateo, CA), where Pastor Sam and Sharlene Manu began their cell-based church in early 2004 using a non-traditional format to gather a scattered body of people who tend to be closer to friends at work than to their neighbors.

“We’re in our fourth year and not an ‘experiment’ Full Story...

Late-night heart-to-hearts
Estimates put the current number of Chinese restaurants in America at 45,000 — that’s more than all the McDonald’s, Wendy’s and Burger Kings combined. The number of Chinese restaurant workers is astounding: between 500,000 and 600,000 — most of them completely unfamiliar with the gospel.

Big happy church/school family
Meadowood Christian School is a key ministry of Meadowood FMC (CO), providing “an excellent Christian education in a safe, nurturing, ministry focused environment.” Principal Linda Humiston (wife of Pastor Harlan) oversees the training-up of 108 students, only a quarter of them from the church.

“We use excellent curriculum, so our students Full Story...
