Local Author Writes Memoir as a Tribute to His Father

CHURCHVILLE, NY– Bill Roushey, Jr. has written his first book, Junior’s Hope, choosing to recall his life through the lens of his relationship with his father, Bill Roushey, Sr. The book chronicles Bill Jr.’s life and spiritual journey to date, highlighting his childhood, college and parenting years. Woven into the storyline is his dad’s battle with Prostate Cancer, prayers for his healing, and the aftermath.

Mr. Roushey says, “The idea for the book came about after spending so me time journaling my feelings and memories while I sat with Dad during his cancer battle.” According to Mr. Roushey, “If healing or death took place, I didn’t want to forget about what my father went through years from now.”

Junior’s Hope is published by Holy Fire Publishing of Summerville, SC. It can be purchased at The Lift Bridge Book Shop in Brockport, NY, the Roberts Wesleyan College Bookstore in North Chili, NY, and through most online booksellers, such as www.amazon.com. Mr. Roushey will be selling his book at the annual Sportsman’s Dinner held at Pearce Memorial Church, Saturday, March 10 th. Bill Roushey, Jr. is a graduate of Spencerport High School, Spencerport, NY. He holds Bachelor of Arts and Master of Science degrees from Roberts Wesleyan College.

In 2002 he became a member of Who’s Who in American Colleges and Universities. He currently works for Pearce Memorial Church in North Chili, NY. Bill’s writing career began in 2004 when he submitted a genealogy article to an international writing contest. He was unaware of the talent he possessed until he received Excellence in Writing awards two consecutive years from the International Society of Family History Writers and Editors (ISFHWE).
